📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Prepare Workspace and Check Water Temperature
Drape a clean towel over the shoulder beneath the target ear. Fill a bowl with lukewarm water and test a drop on the inside of your wrist to ensure it matches skin temperature. Place your catch basin, cotton balls, and drops within arm's reach.

- • Catch basin and drops placed on the table next to the seated user.
- • Using tap water that is noticeably hot or cold to the touch.
Instill Wax-Softening Drops
Tilt your head sideways horizontally so the affected ear faces straight up toward the ceiling. Gently pull the outer ear up and back to straighten the ear canal. Squeeze 5 to 10 drops of softening solution directly into the ear canal without touching the dropper tip to the ear.

Allow Softening Solution to Dwell
Maintain the tilted head position for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the drops to penetrate and dissolve hardened cerumen. Place a loose cotton ball gently in the opening of the ear canal to catch minor overflow if you need to return upright.

Fill the Bulb Syringe
Squeeze the rubber bulb syringe completely flat to expel all air before submerging the nozzle. Dip the tip into the bowl of lukewarm water and release your grip slowly to fill the chamber entirely with water, avoiding trapped air bubbles.

Gently Irrigate the Ear Canal
Hold the catch basin tightly against your neck directly beneath the earlobe. Squeeze the bulb with steady, gentle pressure to allow water and softened wax to drain freely into the basin.

Tilt your head toward the shoulder over the towel to allow all residual water to drain out naturally. Use the towel to gently pat dry the outer ear. Inspect the catch basin for dark yellow or brown wax fragments, and repeat the flush up to 2-3 times if blockage persists.
