π Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)
Check Height Alignment and Rubber Feet
Stand upright wearing your typical walking shoes with your arms hanging naturally at your sides. Position the cane upright directly beside your outer foot. The top of the ergonomic handle should align with the crease of your wrist, and all three rubber foot ferrules must be seated tightly on the leg ends.
- β’ Handle crest sits parallel to the user's wrist crease when arm hangs loose.
- β’ Three distinct black rubber ferrules fully pushed onto all three leg tips without gaps.
- β’ Holding the cane too far forward while measuring, creating an artificially high stance.
Walk in Cane Mode
Hold the handle with your palm centered over the grip, index finger resting naturally alongside the curved front. Advance the cane forward roughly one foot-length in tandem with your weaker or injured leg. Step through with your stronger leg while pressing downward into the center shaft for balance.
- β’ Cane shaft lands vertically perpendicular to the ground at the same moment as the weaker foot.
- β’ User's torso remains upright without twisting or excessive torso dip.
- β’ Planting the cane too far ahead of the body, causing the bottom tip to slip.
- β’ Using the cane on the injured side instead of the opposite (stronger) side.
Deploy into Stool Mode
Come to a complete stop on level ground and hold the cane slightly away from your body by the upper grip. Locate the release rotary knob or slide latch just below the handle and twist or release it according to the directional arrow. Let the triangular seat and tripod legs swing outward until you hear a sharp, mechanical click.
- β’ Legs expand into an equilateral tripod base with all three feet touching the floor.
- β’ Seat panels form a flat, horizontal triangular platform.
- β’ Lock indicator or joint shows full extension without spring recoil.
- β’ Holding the lower legs with the free hand, which blocks the automatic spring expansion.
- β’ Failing to swing the frame firmly enough to trigger the internal seat lock.
Mount and Sit in Straddle Position
Stand directly behind the deployed stool facing the main handle shaft. Step one foot over the seat so you straddle the center with the handle between your legs. Slowly lower your body weight into the center of the triangular seat while holding the handle with both hands for stability.
- β’ User is seated facing forward toward the cane handle with both feet flat on the ground.
- β’ Handle is positioned directly between the user's thighs.
- β’ All three tripod feet remain flat and grounded with no daylight beneath rubber pads.
- β’ Attempting to sit sideways or with the handle behind the back, drastically altering balance.
- β’ Plumping or dropping body weight suddenly onto the seat instead of sitting controlled.
Stand and Retract to Cane Mode
Place both feet firmly on the ground, grip the handle, and push upward into a full standing stance. Grasp the retraction strap or pull-ring located underneath the front of the seat and lift straight upward. Squeeze the three legs parallel toward the central shaft until the mechanical latch clicks shut to secure the cane configuration.
- β’ Legs collapse flush against the main cane tube.
- β’ Seat panels fold vertically flat along the shaft.
- β’ Lock latch re-engages so legs do not splay when lifted off the ground.
- β’ Attempting to fold the seat while still bearing partial body weight on it.
- β’ Not pressing the legs together until the latch fully locks, causing legs to flap during walking.
